Running Analysis on the Open Science Grid

Finding computing resources

Researchers can use Open Science Grid (OSG) computers to run their LIGO related data analysis jobs. Getting set-up on the Open Science Grid takes some time, so you’ll want to plan to devote some hours spread out over a few days to sign-up for an account and learn how to work in this environment.

There are a lot of training resources available to help you get started. If you are looking for some computing power to run dozens or hundreds of analysis jobs, working on the OSG might be a good fit for you!

  1. Create an account at osgconnect.net
  2. Attend a new user training or watch the training videos
  3. Use the OSG Help Desk to find documentation, support, and office hours
